The Accounts Payable Clerk position is an opportunity based in Pensacola, Florida. The role involves performing accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.



Job Responsibilities

• Assemble, review, and verify invoices and check requests
• Classify transactions in the general ledger (coding)
• Scan and electronically route invoices
• Enter and upload invoices into the system
• Review vendor statements and process employee expense reports
• Match checks with invoices, track expenses, and prepare electronic transfers
• Perform check runs and post transactions to journals and ledgers
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions
• Monitor payments and research discrepancies
• Maintain vendor files and respond to inquiries
• Produce monthly reports and assist with month-end closing
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Maintain accurate historical records and confidentiality
• Perform other office duties as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
• Accounts payable experience in a job cost environment or construction company is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
• Excellent problem-solving and vendor relationship skills
• Professional integrity and ability to meet deadlines

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay Rate : $19.00/hr (1-3 years' experience), $22.00/hr (4+ years' experience)
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm, Friday 7am-11am
