Nova Communications is bringing AI into the everyday telecom stack — voice agents, call transcription, sentiment analysis, and analytics layered onto the phone and network services small businesses already run on. We're looking for someone early in their sales career who's ready to build a book of business from the ground up — someone who creates their own momentum instead of waiting for it to show up. The accounts you win here are the accounts you keep, and how far this role goes is largely up to what you put into it.

Nova Communications is a boutique telecom and technology provider serving small and mid-sized businesses. We deliver hosted and on-premise phone systems, managed network services, structured cabling, and nationwide rollout coordination for multi-location customers. We're now extending that into AI — voice agents, call transcription, sentiment analysis, and analytics — giving our customers capabilities that used to be reserved for much larger companies. Our reputation is built on practical solutions and support customers can trust, not the newest buzzword.

About the Role

Twelve months in, you'll have a live pipeline you built yourself — small and mid-sized businesses you found, followed up with, and closed without anyone handing them to you. There's real structure and support here, but the pace is yours to set: the people who do well in this role are the ones who show up each day with their own plan for who to call and what to chase, not the ones waiting for a lead to land in their inbox. You'll know Nova's full portfolio well enough to recommend the right fit for a customer's actual problem, not just what's easiest to sell. And you'll be earning real commission on business you built, with a base of renewals and referrals that compounds the longer you stay.

What You'll Do

• Build your own pipeline from scratch — outbound calls, referrals, networking, and in-person outreach — rather than working leads that are assigned to you

• Learn Nova's full service portfolio — hosted and on-premise phone systems, managed network services, structured cabling, and our AI-powered voice, transcription, and analytics services — well enough to match the right solution to each customer's needs

• Run discovery calls and needs assessments, then build proposals and demos that make the business case clearly

• Set your own daily and weekly priorities, balancing prospecting, follow-up, and account management with minimal day-to-day oversight

• Manage your own pipeline end to end in our CRM, from first contact through signed contract

• Own the account after the close — renewals, expansions, and referrals build your book, not someone else's

• Work closely with Nova's sales leadership and delivery team to close deals cleanly and set up a smooth implementation

• Meet regularly with sales leadership to review your pipeline and sharpen your approach as you grow into full ownership of your territory

What We're Looking For

Required

• 0–2 years of professional experience — new to sales or early in your career is fine; we train for the rest

• A track record of setting your own goals and hitting them without much oversight — from a past job, a sport, school, a side project, or something you built or ran yourself

• Comfortable initiating conversations with people you haven't met, by phone and in person

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local client visits

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• Prior experience in sales, customer service, retail, or hospitality

• Interest in technology, telecom, or B2B services

• Familiarity with a CRM or similar sales-tracking tool

• Bachelor's degree

Compensation & Benefits

This role starts at a $42,000 base salary plus commission while you build your pipeline, then transitions to a straight-commission structure as your book of business grows — the more you build, the more you keep. Most reps in this role can expect first-year on-target earnings (OTE) between $65,000 and $85,000, with income growing beyond that in year two and after as your book of renewals and referrals compounds. Full compensation plan details, including ramp timing, are shared during the interview process.
