We lead the way in closed die forging innovation for the aerospace, oilfield, power generation, mechanical power transmission, off-highway and railway industries.Position Overview:Canton Drop Forge is seeking experienced Industrial Material Handlers to support our forging operations. These positions play a critical role in maintaining production flow by safely transporting steel, dies, tooling, and finished forgings throughout the forge using powered industrial trucks and other material handling equipment.Successful candidates will be assigned to either a Production Operator or Forge Utility Operator position based on operational needs, qualifications, and experience. Both roles require working safely in a hot, fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting continuous production and material movement. Both roles focus on material movement, production support, housekeeping, and communication across departments.Responsibilities:Safely transport steel, dies, tooling, forgings, and production materials throughout the facility using powered industrial trucks.Supply production crews with materials needed to maintain continuous forging operations.Stage, organize, and replenish materials to support production efficiency.Load and unload furnaces while maintaining safe handling practices.Prepare production areas for upcoming shifts by staging tooling, steel, and equipment.Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in congested manufacturing environments.Communicate with production crews and supervisors to coordinate material movement.Assist with die changes, tooling movement, and general production support as required.Perform housekeeping duties to maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.Follow all quality, safety, and operating procedures while working around hot materials, moving equipment, and overhead cranes.Perform other related duties as assignedJob Requirements:3+ years of powered industrial truck (forklift) experienceExperience handling large, heavy, or oversized materialsPrevious experience in forging, steel manufacturing, foundry, heavy industrial, or similar manufacturing environments preferredAbility to safely work around hot materials and active production equipmentStrong awareness of safe material handling practicesAbility to communicate effectively in English and work as part of a production teamDemonstrates commitment to safety, quality, and workmanshipPhysical Requirements:Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and climbing throughout the shiftAbility to lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier materials with lifting devicesAbility to safely operate forklifts throughout an entire shiftAbility to work in high-temperature industrial environments during all seasonsAbility to wear required PPE and work around moving equipment and heavy machineryCanton Drop Forge is an equal opportunity employer; qualified applicants are considered for and treated during employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, protected veteran status, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information or any other characteristic protected by law.Canton Drop Forge offers a comprehensive and competitive benefit package including medical, dental, life, disability, retirement, and paid time off.Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and thorough drug screen.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
