In this role, you will serve as the senior financial leader for our Thacker Pass Operations, working out of our Winnemucca office, responsible for financial planning and analysis, site-level reporting, internal controls, and business partnership with operational leadership. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission‑driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector.The role is based of our Winnemucca, Nevada office and reports to the Vice President, FP&A. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all site-level FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and long‑range planningOversee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Corporate FinanceServe as the primary finance business partner to the Site General Manager, providing insights that support operational and strategic decision‑makingLead and develop the site-based finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvementEnsure the effectiveness of SOX internal controls and maintain strong financial governance across all site processesSupport cost accounting, inventory management, capital project evaluation, and operational KPI reportingCoordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policiesBuilds and maintains trusted relationships across all teams while championing a culture that reflects and supports our Purpose, Vision, and ValuesPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA designation required (U.S. or Canadian)7+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibility at a manufacturing, chemical, mining, or industrial operationDemonstrated experience as a finance leader at an operating site (e.g., plant controller, mine controller, or similar)Strong background in FP&A, cost accounting, operational finance, and financial reportingProven ability to lead teams, partner with operational leaders, and drive performance improvementDeep understanding of SOX internal controls and financial compliance requirementsExcellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skillsPersonal commitment to Lithium Americas’ Purpose, Vision, and ValuesWorking at Lithium AmericasAt Lithium Americas, we believe our people are our most valuable asset.
