Lead Application Developer

Salary: $85,000 - 125,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 7–13 years of professional software development experience
• Experience with modern web development frameworks and building websites and APIs using Python, FastAPI, Django, React.js, TypeScript, and Redis
• Familiarity with DevOps tasks, including sprint task management, CI/CD, and Docker containerization
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with AI tools and modern software development practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Intellectual curiosity and interest in continually developing technical skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Financial services experience, particularly in fixed income or ABS/ABF, is a plus

• Architect and develop our internal technology platform under the guidance of the Director of Data & Technology
• Build software and web portal components from technical specifications and business requirements
• Support integrations between internal systems and third-party applications
• Test, debug, and refine applications based on user feedback, applying development best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Enhance existing applications, APIs, and services
• Assist with database development, cloud deployments, and containerized applications
• Help implement secure coding practices and maintain application security standards
• Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve development workflows
• Troubleshoot software issues, help resolve bugs, perform unit testing, and support quality assurance
• Maintain technical documentation for applications and deployment processes
• Assist with software releases and ongoing maintenance
• Coordinate with vendors and technology partners as needed
• Work with the Director of Data & Technology, other team members, and business users to understand requirements and deliver effective technology solutions
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and updates
• Recommend improvements to applications, workflows, and development processes
• Keep current with modern development tools, technologies, and industry best practices

We are hiring a full-time Lead Developer for our financial services firm in New York City. The role reports to the Director of Technology and supports the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our internal technology platforms and scalable applications.
