Environmental Health Safety Engineer

A manufacturing organization is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support and maintain safe work practices while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Develop, maintain, and improve safety programs, employee training, and safety committee activities. Partner with engineering and operations teams on process improvements and provide EHS guidance related to safe work practices and process safety. Update, maintain, and audit site safety standards, procedures, and documentation on a routine basis. Conduct inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis; recommend and follow up on corrective actions to reduce future risk. Maintain EHS documentation, policies, procedures, and required reporting, including environmental and regulatory reports such as SARA Tier II, Title V certifications/emissions reporting, TRI, and related compliance documentation. Prepare reports for leadership regarding compliance status, EHS risks, corrective actions, and improvement plans. Serve as a point of contact with outside agencies, vendors, and other external EHS-related organizations. Support initiatives aimed at reducing workplace injuries, workers’ compensation costs, and safety-related downtime. Travel to other company locations as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field required. 3–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and related federal, state, and local regulations required. Experience supporting EHS programs in a production environment with exposure to machinery, chemicals, and industrial processes. Strong communication, documentation, training, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment and spend regular time on the production floor. #J-18808-Ljbffr
