Project Engineer

Project EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Plastic Component Design Engineer with strong expertise in SolidWorks CAD to design, develop, and optimize plastic components for manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end product design, ensuring compliance with functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability requirements while collaborating with cross-functional teams and coordination with offshore team.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop plastic components and assemblies using SolidWorks (3D modeling & 2D drawings)Create detailed engineering drawings including GD&T, tolerances, and material specificationsPerform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) for injection molding and other plastic processesWork closely with tooling, manufacturing, and quality teams during design validation and product launchConduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and risk analysis (FMEA)Support prototype development, testing, and validation activitiesOptimize designs for cost, weight reduction, and performance improvementsEnsure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelinesCollaborate with vendors/toolmakers for mold design inputs and production readinessManage engineering documentation including BOMs, revision control, and design change requestsRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong expertise in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Surface modeling, Drafting)Good understanding of plastic materials and selection (ABS, PP, PC, Nylon, etc.)Knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling concepts, and shrinkage considerationsProficiency in DFM/DFA guidelines for plastic partsFamiliarity with tolerance analysis and GD&T standardsExperience with simulation/analysis tools (optional – Moldflow, FEA, etc.)Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective communication and cross-functional coordination abilityQualificationsExperience in plastic component design (adjust as required)Proven experience in consumer products, automotive, medical devices, or industrial componentsPreferred SkillsExposure to mold design basics and tool development cyclesExperience in product validation, testing, and failure analysisKnowledge of PLM systems (Windchill, Teamcenter, etc.)Understanding of sustainability and recyclable plastic designKey Deliverables3D CAD models and assemblies2D manufacturing drawings with GD&TDFM reports and design validation documentsEngineering change documentation (ECR/ECN)Qualification:Bachelor's "Disclaimer: E-Solutions Inc. provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
