Budget Analyst

Duties

The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.

The duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Serves as the focal point for the control of all funds (Federal, State, and cooperative) allocated to the program.
• Monitors the use and rate of expenditures and analyzes, advises, and discusses expenditures in agreements with the supervisor and staff.
• Analyzes and reconciles transactions and runs various, non-routine reports.
• Maintains administrative and program files in accordance with Federal records management policies, procedures, schedules and guidelines, APHIS policies, and the WS File Plan.
• Compiles and prepares the annual operating, work, and financial plans for the program.
• Responsible for reviewing, reporting, monitoring and following up on activities to ensure completion of financial commitments as identified in documents such as cooperative service agreements, interagency agreements, cooperative agreements, etc.
