INSURANCE DEFENSE ATTORNEY

A small Newport Beach law firm known for its culture is adding an Insurance Defense Attorney to their team.  Position requires (a) 3+ years of insurance defense experience; (b) a CA license. Work is onsite 5 days/week to start and becomes hybrid after the attorney demonstrates reliability. Compensation: $165-210K + bonuses (billable hours-based bonuses paid in Aug and Feb; origination bonus; annual bonus) + comprehensive benefits (health, dental and vision insurance, 401K, etc).  Annual billable requirement is 1900.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret insurance policies, including primary, excess, and specialty lines

• Provide coverage opinions and legal advice to insurer clients

• Handle all aspects of insurance coverage litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation

• Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation proceedings

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and other legal documents

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members
