Production Team LeaderThe Production Team Leader is responsible for ensuring employees are working safely while production and quality requirements are met within their respective department.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures employees receive training and understand all safety requirements and procedures related to their work. Enforces personal protective equipment requirementsDepartmental daily safety spot checkGuides and manages team to ensure KPI's and other performance metrics are metUnderstands the scope, impacts and intricacies of the on-shift production processCommunicates clearly and effectively across all levels of the organizationFosters and develops a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, accountability and respectEmploys strong leadership skills in management of teamCoaches, trains and develops teamClearly communicates expectations and ensures thorough onboarding of new employees, including ensuring an understanding of safe operating proceduresEnsures team's compliance with safety guidelines, company standards and production goalsMakes a working contribution to team's success and holds the team accountable to meet KPI's and other objectives in a timely mannerContinuously identifies opportunities for improvement through assessment of team's control point process, variables, equipment, resources, efficiencies, methods, challenges and strengthsGathers, sorts, analyzes and filters shift data and compiles reports based on resultsEnsures operational efficiencies are met, coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs in conjunction with maintenance according to production plan, addresses concerns quickly and continuously evaluates equipment and processesManages a safe and clean work environmentEducates and directs team members on the use of control points, equipment and resources, ensuring complianceThinks critically and utilizes various problem solving, leadership and analytics methods to address challengesWorks closely with Supervisor, EHS, HR, Quality and others to ensure all parties are informed and in compliance and reports incidents or accidents immediatelyUses software systems to manage team's schedules, hours, performance and disciplinary actions, create reports and perform safety and layered process auditsSkills and ExperienceHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalentOutstanding written and oral communication skills2-3 years of experience in manufacturing leadership, coaching, development and/or training roleKnowledge, management, and improvement of automotive production and/or quality processProduction planning, MSP, reportingApplication of control plan, controls administration, operational efficienciesAbility to follow instructions, delegate and interpret and enforce policies and procedures.Familiarity with ADP, Attendance Counts, DMS, Beacon, Microsoft Suite, and OutlookOrganizational CultureWork safely and follow rules and guidelines for safe workReporting to work on time and with a positive attitudeResponsible for staying focused on tasks at handBeing responsible for work performance and completing tasks throughout the dayMaintains a good working relationship with co-workersSupport a positive and steady workflow through the companyWorks with a sense of urgency when neededSupport, coach or mentor co-workers when neededPositively support change throughout the companyPhysical Work ConditionsMust be able to work in a hot environment.Must be able to lift varying weightsMust be able to push or pull carts of wheels.Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day.Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required.*Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
