The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. The RN mentors and precepts staff.Job Responsibilities:Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates sound independent decision-making ability.Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patient.Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.Education: Facilitates and coordinates education specific to patient and family needs.Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts.
