Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Part Time Relief in Owings Mills, MD , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.70 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial services location.
• Monitor communication systems, receive incoming calls and radio traffic, and dispatch appropriate personnel to routine incidents, urgent situations, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Document incidents, alarms, maintenance concerns, and unusual activity in logs and reports, helping to support timely follow-up and awareness among site leadership and Allied Universal personnel.
• Coordinate with site contacts, first responders, and Allied Universal team members during security-related incidents, medical events, and/or building issues while sharing accurate updates and directions.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as needed, while observing for suspicious activity, unsecured areas, and conditions that could require a security-related response.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
