Salary: $153,068 - 173,472 per year Requirements:

• We require nine years of relevant experience and/or education tied to the role, including enterprise technology leadership, modernization and digital transformation, strategic technology planning, data and AI governance, cybersecurity and resilience, enterprise governance and compliance, fiscal stewardship, workforce leadership, change management, partner engagement, interagency collaboration, and risk-based decision-making.
• We require a major field of study in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• We require experience leading enterprise technology strategy, executive oversight, and operational accountability in support of mission-driven decision-making.
• We require a proven background guiding Agile-based modernization or digital transformation efforts, including cloud adoption, system renewal, automation, or operational redesign.
• We require demonstrated ability to develop and implement enterprise roadmaps that improve interoperability, sustainability, and long-term maturity.
• We require experience overseeing cybersecurity programs, digital risk, incident response, or continuity planning.
• We require experience managing governance frameworks, policy structures, and compliance processes across technology environments.
• We require significant experience managing technology budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, and investment decisions.
• We require a strong record of leading multidisciplinary teams, coaching leaders, and fostering inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing cultures.
• We require strong communication skills to translate complex technical issues into clear, accessible language for executives, policymakers, and staff.
• We require experience collaborating with public-sector, Tribal, federal, academic, and private-sector partners.
• We require sound judgment in assessing technology, cybersecurity, financial, and operational risks to support evidence-based executive decisions.
• We require a valid drivers license or another reliable transportation arrangement for statewide travel.

• We will lead and direct our statewide enterprise technology strategy, modernization programs, cybersecurity efforts, cloud transformation, data and analytics platforms, and digital service delivery.
• We will establish and carry out a long-range technology vision aligned with our environmental mission, statewide policy direction, and current industry practices.
• We will guide agency-wide modernization work, including cloud adoption, enterprise architecture, application renewal, automation, responsible AI, and sustainable technology practices.
• We will oversee our technology investment portfolio, operating and capital budgets, and modernization resources with transparent financial stewardship.
• We will ensure enterprise cybersecurity, digital risk management, operational resilience, and compliance with statewide and federal standards.
• We will recruit, coach, and develop technology leaders and teams while building a collaborative, inclusive, innovative, and high-performing workforce.
• We will represent our agency on statewide technology matters with WaTech, OFM, OCIO, Tribes, local governments, federal partners, universities, and regulated entities.
• We will serve as a trusted advisor to our Executive Leadership Team on technology, cybersecurity, AI governance, data strategy, modernization, policy, risk, and operational readiness.
• We will partner across programs to align technology and data priorities with our scientific, regulatory, and operational goals.
• We will foster a diverse, equitable, inclusive, respectful, and innovative workplace grounded in accountability, transparency, learning, and staff engagement.
• We will communicate clearly with executives, policymakers, oversight bodies, staff, and external partners on complex technology issues.
• We will remain available to support continuity of operations, emergency response, and disaster recovery when critical incidents occur.
