Event Operations ManagerResponsibilities:Oversee and execute all private events at Hotel Covington and The Madison Event CenterPrivate events include wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, non-profit fundraisers, celebrations, board meetings, corporate seminars, networking functions, and moreRecruit, hire, and nurture a team that supports our company culture while providing excellent customer service to our guestsCreate job postings, review applicants, conduct interviews, onboard and train new hiresSupport and manage event staff, up to 80 part-timeCoach, motivate, and lead by example every dayProvide necessary tools to event staff to provide the best service to our guestsPlan and execute quarterly team meetings and annual performance reviewsCounsel, support, and discipline underperforming event staffReview and manage training guide and standard policies for event staffEnsure customer service is exceptional at all levelsResolving customer issues and concerns when neededTraining event staff to meet and often exceed customer expectationsEnsure facilities are properly organized and presentableEvent spaces are always ready for a new client tourBack-of-house areas kept clean and organizedManage daily housekeeping and quarterly cleaning schedulesCollaborate, assist, and work effectively with all other departmentsIncluding but not limited to Sales, Restaurant, and Culinary TeamsAttend and participate in weekly meetingsEnsure all event details are reviewed and finalized for event staffWork with the management team to manage labor and supply costsWeekly orders with outside vendorsNegotiate and manage vendor contractsCreate event schedule, manage, and approve payrollPrepare for and execute various in-house events such as client tastings, employee luncheons, employee events, and moreManage relationships with vendors and local businessesAssist outside vendors while working at our venues, and cultivate positive and professional relationshipsOther duties as assignedA Successful Event Operations Manager:High achiever, ambitious, and proactiveAccountable, solution-focused, and motivatedExceptional communicatorCollaborative, flexibleMotivated, embracing change and challengesBenefits:Eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance401K availableDiscounts offered at all other businesses
