Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist who will perform machining tasks using multi-axis lathes. While experience with both types of machines is not required initially, candidates should be open to working on both. Responsibilities include setting up machines with the proper tooling, inspecting parts using dial micrometers and digital calipers, and performing minor program editing. The role involves both short and long runs, with machinists expected to complete 2-3 setups per week using iPads for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform machining tasks using multi-axis lathes and Haas mills.
• Set up machines with proper tooling and perform tool changes.
• Inspect parts with dial micrometers, digital calipers, and height gages.
• Conduct minor program editing.
• Execute both short (8-10 parts) and long runs (3-4 days).
• Complete 2-3 setups per week.
• Utilize iPads for documentation and part inspection.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years of recent experience machining with mills or lathes.
• Ability to set up machines with proper tooling.
• Experience with multi-axis lathes is a major plus.
• Experience with Haas mills is a major plus.
• Competency in part inspection using micrometers and calipers.

Work Environment

The machine shop is a clean and organized space, employing 10-12 individuals within a larger company of nearly 100 employees. The shop has its own dedicated area within the building, offering a climate-controlled environment and a great company culture.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prior Lake, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
