How you'll contribute Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer;, EKGs, and tobacco‑cessation education as ordered. Delivers ordered respiratory therapies; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and response to treatment. Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions. Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices. Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources. Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas and equipment readiness. Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment. Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Participates in performance improvement and required education. Performs other duties as assigned. What we're looking for The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education: Associate's degree in respiratory therapy required. License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in state of North Carolina. Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.
