Position: On-Air Stock Market Broadcaster “Squawk”
Position Type: Full time
Location: Remote, Detroit
High Level:
An opportunity to make an impact and play a key role in the growth of a top financial publisher. We are hiring a market analyst with fast twitch impulses to deliver breaking news audio color on the most impactful developments across asset classes, with a particular focus on U.S. equities. A news ‘junkie’ or trader will thrive in our environment of journalists and investment professionals.
As a “Squawker”, you will have a direct hand in creating stories heard and seen by millions of readers and impacting the industry as a whole. The role involves news gathering, analysis, and a ‘leave your ego at the door’ attitude.
The experience you need:
- Minimum 3 years of experience using market scanner tools and data (Bloomberg, Think or Swim, Tradestation et al).
- Radio or multimedia experience (preferred)
- Minimum three years experience at an investment institution and/or digital publication, preferably in the financial media sector.
- Expert knowledge of the U.S. stock market, the world of finance, and various professional trading styles
- Knowledge of news writing and reporting, AP Style, journalism principles and ethics.
- Ability to produce short- and long-form stories.
