We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to support patient intake and registration activities for a healthcare organization in Nashua, New Hampshire. This Contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong customer service skills with accuracy in administrative and financial processes. In this role, you will help create a smooth patient experience by verifying information, explaining required documentation, and supporting compliant account setup before and during service.

Responsibilities:
• Manage patient admissions, registration, and pre-registration activities for scheduled and walk-in services while ensuring records are complete and accurate.
• Verify demographic and insurance details, assign or confirm medical record numbers, and enter information correctly to support billing and claim accuracy.
• Review physician orders and medical necessity criteria, identify documentation needs, and provide patients with clear instructions related to their visit.
• Explain consent forms, notices, and patient education materials to patients or authorized representatives, obtain required signatures, and document completion appropriately.
• Conduct inbound and outbound calls to gather missing account information, discuss patient financial responsibility, and collect point-of-service payments or outstanding balances when applicable.
• Use insurance verification tools to confirm eligibility, select the correct coverage plan, and record benefit details that support reimbursement and clean claim submission.
• Deliver compassionate, service-focused interactions that align with organizational standards for patient satisfaction and clear, accurate communication.
• Monitor account quality through audits and reporting tools, correct registration issues, and share accurate data with leadership to maintain compliance and performance standards.• Prior experience in patient access, patient registration, medical office support, or a related patient account representative role.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and empathetically with patients, families, and care teams.
• Experience collecting insurance information, reviewing eligibility, and supporting point-of-service or past-due payment collection activities.
• Solid data entry and administrative skills with close attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to explain forms, obtain signatures, and handle sensitive patient information in a compliant and confidential manner.
• Familiarity with healthcare registration workflows, insurance verification, and medical necessity review processes.
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospital or clinical environment while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
