HIRING EXPANDED DUTIES DENTAL ASSISTANT

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Experience with Eaglesoft is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with chairside procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Must have x-ray certification and at least 2 years chairside experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
• Take dental X-rays while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols
• Manage patient records using Eaglesoft ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
• Perform chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain infection control standards by following proper sterilization procedures and handling medical imaging equipment safely
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation.
• Stay updated on current dental terminology, medical terminology, and advances in dental technology including 3D scanners

Skills

• Proficiency in Eaglesoft.
• Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within a dental setting
• Experience with X-ray procedures, and radiology safety standards
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry methods
• Knowledge of dental terminology across various specialties including general dentistry.
• Familiarity with anatomy relevant to dental procedures and patient assessment
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to maintain meticulous medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Experience working in a fast-paced dental environment with attention to detail in medical documentation and records management.
• Nitrous certified
