Environmental Scientist

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Environmental Scientist in Lisle, IL. The role offers the opportunity to work with experienced environmental professionals, licensed engineers, architects, surveyors, and GIS/CAD technicians in a fast‑paced, dynamic team environment. What You’ll Do Perform field investigations to delineate and map wetlands, conduct environmental compliance inspections, describe habitat, and report environmental conditions to design engineers. Research and complete environmental permitting at the federal, state, and local levels. Compose regulatory documents including SPCC Plans, SWPPP Plans, and BMP Plans. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Collaborate with project teams, technical staff, and subcontractors. What You’ll Need BS (MS preferred) in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or a related discipline. 0‑5 years of environmental experience; field experience preferred. Experience collecting GPS data and creating maps in ArcGIS Pro. Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations (Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, etc.). Strong team‑player skills in a multi‑disciplinary environment with the ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent oral and written communication, including facilitation and presentation capabilities. Computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel for fieldwork on short notice. Valid driver’s license.
