ABA Behavior TechnicianThe ABA Behavior Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism.The ABA Behavior Technician will collect data and complete session notes. The ABA Behavior Technician will be responsible for supporting the duties of the Lead ABA Behavior Technician in the temporary absence of these team members as required. The ABA Behavior Technician is required to complete 40 hours of online Registered ABA Behavior Technician training prior to the ABA Behavior Technician's start date. If the ABA Behavior Technician is certified, a copy of the training certificate must be provided to Laugh & Learn prior to their start date.Responsibilities and Duties:Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangementsFollow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocolsCollect, record, and summarize data on observable client behaviorEffectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the BCBAUtilize safe & appropriate hand l ing procedures when working with clientsMaintain client confidentialityAssist in preparing client materials as instructedMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environmentAssist with Lead ABA Behavior Technician responsibilities in their absence as requiredMaintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending trainings as requiredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordinglyEffective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one timeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors and community membersAbility to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification BoardCommitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA lawsCommitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics and technology in order to perform job responsibilities to required standardsMust maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair and make-upBasic & Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipmentMust be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of timeMust be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of timeMust be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behaviorMust have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collectionMust be physically present at assigned job locationMust be able to receive detailed information through oral communicationMust have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices and paper meansMust have reliable transportationExperience:Required: NonePreferred: Experience working with children ages 2-21, preferably with children with disabilities, and experience in implementing the principles of Applied Behavior AnalysisEducation:Required: High School Diploma or GED (over 18 years of age and capable of passing a background check)Related Training:Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed; including, but not limited to: CPR, CPI, RBT trainings and other company in-services and trainings as directed.
