Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Operating Room (OR) RN provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Reporting to the Operating Room Supervisor, this role ensures patient safety, comfort, and proper procedural support before, during, and after surgery.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients' health status and anesthesia needs to prepare for surgery.
  
  
• 
  Anticipate the surgical team's requirements to facilitate smooth procedures.
  
  
• 
  Maintain an aseptic environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any complications.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families about pre- and post-operative care procedures.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  
  
• 
  Proven experience in an operating room or perioperative setting.
  
  
• 
  Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
  
  
• 
  Ability to assess patient needs and communicate effectively with surgical teams.
  
  
• 
  Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) is preferred.
