Electrician

A manufacturing company in Waukegan, IL is seeking an Electrician to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and automated production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrician with strong industrial experience and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements of the Electrician

• Job stability
• 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of 480V, 3-phase electrical systems and motor controls
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and automated machinery
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Working knowledge of VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, and control panels
• Food manufacturing experience is preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently

Responsibilities of the Electrician

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on production and packaging equipment
• Maintain motors, drives, control panels, sensors, and other electrical components
• Diagnose and support PLC-controlled systems to minimize downtime
• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical inspections on equipment
• Install, wire, and modify electrical components as needed
• Partner with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and food quality standards

2nd shift,  DIRECT HIRE

Pay is $45.00 - $50.00 hourly, based on experience
