This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that supports vital services in the community.What You'll DoInstall, test, and maintain DC power systems (rectifiers, batteries, distribution panels)Perform preventative maintenance on battery plants, UPS systems, and related equipmentConduct load testing, inspections, and system auditsDiagnose and resolve issues with DC power systemsRespond to outages and alarms to restore services quickly and safelyInterpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentationMonitor system performance and identify potential risksMaintain accurate maintenance and repair recordsSupport facility systems including HVAC, alarms, lighting, and fire suppressionUtilize portable and towable generators during emergency situationsPerform routine building maintenance across all locationsParticipate in an on-call rotation for offices, central offices, and DLC cabinetsCollaborate with other departments as neededWorking ConditionsOutdoor work in varying weather conditionsPhysical work including lifting and equipment handlingOn-call responsibilities and shift work requiredPosition requires onsite presence (not eligible for remote work)QualificationsEducation & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredSpecialized training in electronics, DC power, or HVAC preferred1–2 years of experience in Central Office or plant operationsTechnical Knowledge & Skills:Understanding of electrical principles (AC/DC, voltage, current, resistance, Ohm's Law)Experience with telecommunications or Central Office equipment preferredAbility to read schematics and technical diagramsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience using mechanical and electrical toolsOther Requirements:Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving recordAbility to work varying shifts, including on-call, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAdditional InformationNineStar Connect does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital status, sexual preference, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
