Description

American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist with at least one year of hospital experience and BLS certification to perform routine and advanced neurodiagnostic studies.

Details

• Hospital-based EEG department
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Friday through Sunday
• 36 hours per week across 3 days
• Performs routine outpatient and inpatient EEGs, prolonged EEGs to rule out ECS, and long-term continuous EEG monitoring
• Conducts private VEEGs using the 10-20 system for electrode placement
• Monitors multiple patients' EEG and video in the EMU
• Supports ictal SPECT studies and intracarotid EEG recording during WADA procedures
• Performs intra-operative and pre-operative EEG brain mapping
• Conducts evoked potentials and SSEP studies

Requirements

• Current BLS certification required
• R.EEG.T. certification preferred
• License required if applicable
• Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting
• Proficiency in 10-20 system electrode placement
• Experience with VEEG, long-term continuous EEG, and outpatient event monitoring
• Knowledge of electrical safety and infection control standards

Additional Information

• Monitors patients during clinical events and notifies physicians or nurses as necessary
• Maintains electrical safety and complies with ASET minimum standards during all testing
• Provides patient education related to neurodiagnostic procedures
• Assists RN or Nuclear Medicine Technologist during ictal SPECT procedures
• Continually strives to improve competency through on-the-job training and formal education
