Step into a meaningful role supporting K-12 students as a dedicated Behavior Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is ideal for someone who excels in environments requiring patience, compassion, and expertise in behavior support. You’ll work onsite, collaborating closely with educators and staff to foster a safe and nurturing classroom climate, helping students reach their full potential.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience working with students exhibiting severe behavioral challenges, preferably in a self-contained classroom setting
• Comfortable supporting a diverse caseload across grades K-12
• CPI certification is preferred or a willingness to obtain certification promptly upon hire
• Knowledge or experience working within Native American communities welcomed and valued
• Ability to remain calm and resourceful in high-intensity situations
• Commitment to full-time, onsite participation (37.5 hours per week) throughout the academic year

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students and classroom teachers in managing and redirecting behaviors to promote a positive learning environment
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed
• Collaborate with special education and behavioral teams, offering clear, consistent support and documentation
• Assist in de-escalating situations and provide crisis intervention strategies using CPI techniques
• Foster trusting, respectful relationships with students, families, and school staff
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all school and adjudication protocols

Special Considerations:

• Candidates will undergo a BIE adjudication process, which may delay the start date by up to one week
• All applicants will be prescreened as part of a thorough selection process
