Cleaning Associate

Block by Block provides cleaning, safety, beautification, transportation and hospitality services - in a nutshell, we provide services for anything your city needs to be a more desired destination. We are currently seeking some very friendly & detail-oriented people to join our team and make a difference in Music City! We need the following in a candidate: strong work ethic, outgoing personality, a great eye for details and a desire to work within a happy team. Position Details - Pay Range $ 20.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!) Shift/Schedule: 6:00am to 2:30pm Days off Thursday - Friday or Wednesday -Thursday or Tuesday - Wednesday Positions will require working Saturday and Sunday. What You'll Be Doing This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the zone assigned. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times. Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information. Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc. Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots. Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc. Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed which requires being proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language. Interaction with visitors, residents and businesses. Provide directions, walking maps, take pictures and general southern hospitality! Qualifications Requirements Experience in hospitality, outdoor grounds keeping, outdoor public spaces outdoor cleaning. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Uniforms provided. TN Driver’s license in good standing. HS Diploma - GED preferred. Must be able to walk several miles per day with breaks and lunch periods provided.
