Job Description - Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) - Hospitalist Medicine Full-time Independent Hospitalist Physicians (IHP) has an immediate opening for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Hospitalist Medicine team at Ascension Providence Hospital Southfield and Novi campuses. Position Type: Full Time (1,840 hours/year) Night Shift (10-12 hours) Pay: $93,012 starting annual salary Guaranteed increases with years of service Additional $8.00/hr night shift differential Position Summary: As part of our Hospital Medicine team, our Physician Assistants (PA's) and Nurse Practitioners (NP's) work with a group of providers who are committed to providing excellent hospital patient care and experiences. Responsible for delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides primary health care to hospital inpatients and observation patients in conjunction with collaborating physicians. Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professionalism. Additional duties may include policy and procedure development and participation in program evaluation activities. Direct Care responsibilities include: Performing pertinent physical examinations and clinical evaluations; Managing clinical care; Performing procedures; Ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies; Ordering and monitoring medications; Participating in short-term and long-term planning of patient care with members of the inter-professional team Code Blue Rapid Response Cross Coverage Coordinating the transition of outpatient care. Qualifications: Current State License Current DEA Experience and Skills: Prior professional experience in an acute setting is preferred. Self-directed, self-motivated, and works independently. Demonstrates communication skills, leadership ability, organization and time management skills.
