Style Merch Captain, Downey Stonewood Center - Full Time

Job Overview As a Selling and Support Captain, you are an advocate for the customer and a role model for your colleagues. You will drive results through promotional and Omni selling initiatives and ensure high-level customer satisfaction, merchandising, and brand loyalty. Under the supervision of a People Leader, you will communicate expectations and priorities to our colleagues. Full‑time colleagues are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week; part‑time colleagues are scheduled 12–24 hours per week. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability. What You Will Do Fulfill customer orders, merchandise, process new products, or supervise the selling floor to deliver exceptional customer service. Lead colleagues in the execution and completion of assigned tasks. Act as an advocate for the customer; model and provide fast feedback to improve the customer experience. Maintain high levels of customer service through problem‑solving and customer‑focused resolutions. Enhance the in‑store experience by promoting the Macy’s mobile app. Meet with People Leaders throughout the day to plan and monitor total store activities. Provide continuous feedback to People Leaders that improves customer experience and processes. Perform store opening and closing procedures, including accessing the alarm system and settling the registers. Ensure adherence to best‑in‑class merchandise standards. Educate colleagues on point‑of‑sale technology, radio frequency equipment, and applications for selling and order fulfillment. Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships with colleagues, customers, and communities. Who You Are Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with regular, dependable attendance. Proficient in communicating effectively with customers and providing clear direction to colleagues. Self‑starter who adapts quickly to changing customer expectations and needs. Resourceful and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. 1–2 years of direct retail experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform Lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Standing for at least two consecutive hours; lifting up to 50 lbs.; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Reaching above eye level and using color vision.
