Tech - Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer

Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce images of internal body tissues, aiding physicians in diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions. Provides supervision and mentorship to ultrasound staff while ensuring equipment functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of organs, tissues, and vessels.
• Analyze and verify images, documenting findings, measurements, and relevant data for physician review.
• Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide patient care by assessing conditions, preparing patients for procedures, and monitoring vital signs.
• Adhere to established ultrasonic diagnostic protocols and safety precautions during procedures.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and maintain accurate records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

• Hold a diploma or certificate from an accredited ultrasound training program.
• Be currently registered and certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent credentialing bodies.
• Possess certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB), or Vascular (RVT); or equivalent certification from CCI or ARRT.
• Maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Have at least two years of recent ultrasound experience in the field.
• Be licensed to practice in the state of assignment if required.
