GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE Under close supervision, ships, receives, stocks and fulfills orders of product in the distribution center, while following company policies and guidelines. Typically, tasks are completed using an RF scanner, step ladders, conveyor systems, and sortation walls. The Material Handler position incorporates several subtitled roles: FOR EXAMPLE: repacker, order selector, picker, checker, packer, sorter, skip chaser, labeler, box maker; and can be located in departments throughout the distribution center including receiving, replenishment, retail pick/decant, ecommerce pick, retail put-to-store, ecommerce pack/sort, shipping, and quality assurance. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Material Handler is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned): Performance Accurately picks and packs orders using established work practices Restocks picking bins with product brought from reserve storage based on warehouse management system reporting Accurately sorts, counts, and receives all merchandise Moves product to and from pallet racks with powered material handling equipment such as pallet jacks Works with conveyors to accurately build pallets of cartons to ship out Loads or unloads trucks, sorting and labeling product as needed Organizes warehouse storage space effectively Works in a clean and orderly manner at all times Uses a RF scanner/hand scanner to direct work (pick, pack, receive, move) Use of sortation walls and conveyor systems to complete daily tasks Meets safety, productivity, and quality standards Demonstrates flexibility in daily task assignments and performs other general warehouse tasks, as assigned People Establishes professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster a shared interest in collaboratively delivering exceptional guest service Uses basic interpersonal skills in accomplishing tasks Partnering with Operations Manager when barriers exist that slow down work Attends mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional development Works effectively in a team environment Process Knowledgeable of and ensures compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards Adheres to the Ulta Beauty dress code Protects company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service Follows all safety guidelines and standards to ensure a safe working environment, including hazard recognition, housekeeping, accident and near miss reporting, proper use of all safety equipment and procedures, and adherence to all safety rules Executes other operational tasks as directed Adheres to established attendance, quality, and production standards Follows instructions quickly, safely, and accurately Effectively communicates, understands oral instructions, reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, in English JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education High school diploma or GED; 1 year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience Previous relevant experience is preferred Skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of RF (radio frequency) scanners Basic computer skills Must be reliable and dependable Basic math skills including the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Work a flexible schedule to include mandatory overtime during the week and/or weekend as well as holidays Must be at least 18 years of age WORKING CONDITIONS Constant exposure to loud noises Occasionally work in elevated platforms Exposure to variable temperatures Exposure to dusty environment May be exposed to strong scents related to cosmetic or fragrance May be required to work in narrow aisles or trailers Must wear cut resistant gloves when box cutters are used If an associate has a disability that prevents them from performing an essential function of the job, the Company will engage in the interactive process with the associate to determine whether there is a reasonable accommodation that will enable the associate to perform the essential functions of the job. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 / Hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
