Interventional Technologist

Job Summary As an Interventional Technologist, you will prepare and assist physicians during complex interventional procedures, ensuring optimal imaging and patient safety. Every day you will ready the procedure room, operate advanced imaging equipment, monitor patient vitals, and assist with instruments while maintaining sterile fields. You must demonstrate expert knowledge of interventional principles, meticulous attention to detail, and collaborative skills in a high‑pressure environment to achieve successful patient outcomes. Responsibilities Assess the patient and ensure they can participate in the ordered procedure. Provide a clear explanation of the procedure, including duration, process, and post‑procedure expectations, and verify informed consent. Assist the physician with interventional procedures such as needle localization, aspiration, biopsies, and other invasive procedures. Practice aseptic and sterile techniques and observe universal precautions; provide patient education as appropriate. Select the proper equipment, set correct technical factors, establish procedure protocols, and gather required supplies before the procedure. Recognize all radiation safety standards including “Image Gently” and “Image Wisely,” MR safety standards, and wear lead protection when using fluoroscopy or when exposure is possible. Obtain and record a clear patient history to assist in image interpretation and future encounters. Perform quality assessment of images, evaluate equipment issues, and report findings to supervisor, manager, or director. Ensure all equipment is functional at the start of the day and before each procedure; perform required performance and quality tests (including ACR requirements). Check supplies for validity prior to use and report shortages, variations, or failures to the appropriate supervisor. Use the CHI incident reporting system to report patient injuries, equipment or supply failures, medication reactions, or personal injury or exposure. Participate in and understand department and system quality improvement projects, ACR accreditation process, radiation safety, ALARA, MQSA, and state regulations. Requirements Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. ARRT Board Certified in Radiology. Valid medical radiography or general radiology technologist permit to practice in Nebraska or Iowa, depending on the work state. Experience with venipuncture techniques required for this position. Ability to set and maintain multiple priorities in a shifting environment while delivering accurate results on time. Self‑motivated with ownership of projects and assignments. Team player with excellent follow‑up and customer service skills. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Pay Range $30.76 – $45.76 /hour #J-18808-Ljbffr
