Overview
We are seeking a Louisiana-licensed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician to perform Traumatic Brain Injury disability examinations for Veterans.
This full-time contract position offers a structured five-day schedule and focused clinical responsibilities without treatment, prescribing, follow-up care, or ongoing patient management.
Position Details
Full-time contract
Five days per week
In-person at an assigned Alexandria clinic
Approximately 3 6 Veteran examinations per day
Pay: $1,350 $1,600 per day
Evaluation-only position
No call responsibilities
No treatment, prescribing, or ongoing patient management
Location and Mileage Requirements
Applicants must reside within 100 miles of Alexandria, Louisiana, and reliably commute to the assigned clinic five days per week.
A personal office or clinic space is not required.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive TBI disability examinations
Assess physical, cognitive, behavioral, and functional effects of traumatic brain injury
Evaluate mobility, coordination, strength, balance, and functional limitations
Review medical records and relevant supporting documentation
Document complete and objective clinical findings
Complete standardized disability questionnaires and electronic reports
Meet established documentation and quality deadlines
Provide respectful and compassionate service to Veteran patients
Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license in good standing
Board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Appropriate training or experience evaluating traumatic brain injuries
Strong functional-assessment and documentation skills
Availability to work onsite five days per week
Residence within 100 miles of Alexandria
Preferred Qualifications
Previous disability-examination experience
Experience evaluating TBI and associated functional limitations
Experience performing independent medical evaluations
Familiarity with standardized disability questionnaires
