Production Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY Effectively and efficiently supervise and direct team members in performing manufacturing and processing activities while conforming to established quality and quantity standards and cost parameters. KEY RESULT AREA Manufacturing/Production Control & Management Plan and schedule production operation based on volume forecast and actual requirements while making sure that quality standards/specifications, timeliness and cost objectives are met. Direct and control the activities in assigned production section/s, team leaders and crew to achieve smooth flow of operations, meet production quality, volume, cost, production schedules and delivery dates. Monitor that standard yields / material balance is consistently achieved; by monitoring output and preparing Monthly Line Summary Report. Analyze usage variance, match usage against production performance and discuss inputs to achieve maximum supply utilization. Analyze process capability of production lines to ensure accurate inputs to production and capacity planning. Monitor support requirements: reliability of all production equipment for optimum efficiency, productivity and quality; availability of technical services necessary for the installation of production utility and other support equipment Plan and execute the schedule for the necessary preventive maintenance program Coordinate with concerned departments/vendors/contractors on major electro-mechanical engineering works that will significantly affect the production operations. Monitor the quality, usage/consumption of production materials (standard yield/material) and other operational requirements issued to his/her assigned production section/s. Establish, implement and manage the activities/tasks on the (3) parts of shift (pre-shift, during & post-shift) to achieve department’s business goals and targets. Promote, reinforce, support and strictly monitor on assigned production section/s unit’s compliance to company policies, workplace safety standards, food safety, supplies and inventory management, First In-First Out (FIFO), proper storage, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Housekeeping Practices or 5S, Clean As You Go (CAYGo), Cleanliness and Sanitation, Allergen, etc. Prepare or review for accuracy and timeliness and approve supplies requisitions, material/stock transfers, work schedules, inventory reports and all other required reports needed to prepare for next day’s production schedule. Analyze root cause of problems (i.e. damaged or spoiled food items); discuss and implement agreed actions with Production Management and Quality Assurance teams the identified interim, preventive and contingent actions. Financial & Resource Management Plan, organize, lead and manage production resources (4Ms: Manpower, Materials, Methods and Machine) on assigned production section/s to ensure efficient, accurate, timely production and compliance to quality standards; achieve cost targets and eliminate wasteful practices in day-to-day operations. Forecast manpower and material requirements on assigned production section/s based on production plan and sales forecasts; establishing and adjusting procedures to meet production schedule. Implement production schedule to ensure daily production volume is met and timely availability of finished goods for distribution to designated locations/stores. Optimize manpower productivity through manpower planning and scheduling on assigned production section/s to achieve labor cost. Implement preventive equipment maintenance, monitor performance and repairs in assigned production section/s to ensure continuity and efficiency of use. People Management Lead, guide, coach and develop new and existing workforce on assigned areas ensuring they have the resources and capabilities to effectively accomplish their assignments to achieve the unit’s goals. Promote, reinforce and support strict compliance to company standards of company rules and regulations and thus also avoiding safety hazards, wastages & spoilages. Participate/recommend in the manpower identification/selection and assessment (including performance appraisals); training, development and coaching. Promote, reinforce and support a high employee engagement, healthy and positive workplace by maintaining good employee relations and compliance to legal laws (HR, labor, etc.); implement accurate, timely and judicious disciplinary measures as necessary; handle employee grievances and recommend timely management actions. Monitor and evaluate performance of direct reports (assigned team leaders and production crew) and recommend and implement personnel actions such as hiring, promotion, transfer/movement, and disciplinary measures. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and Experience At least Associate degree in business, industrial mgt. or any related discipline or equivalent combination of education & experience; experience in food manufacturing, preferred. Demonstrated experience in managing, leading and motivating staff. Lift, reach, pull, push, grasp and use hands frequently. Bend and/or squat down for the majority of their scheduled shift. Climb, stoop and/or kneel rarely. Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Need to see well enough to read/compose email, reports and use the computer and be proactive to internal/external customers’ needs. Need to speak and hear well enough to receive instructions and communicate with management, employees, vendors, and customers. Be required to work irregular hours, varying work shifts schedules.
