Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage and titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• Care for patients presenting with diagnoses such as CHF, hypertension, chest pain, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, GI bleeding, and acute renal failure
• Manage respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and ventilators
• Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling, including a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule; holiday coverage is also required
• Float within Zone 1 as determined by unit needs and nurse manager direction

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to titrate drips independently
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
• Clinicians must be present in state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Med/Surg or Oncology inpatient setting
• Familiarity with common oncology and medical-surgical patient populations
• Experience managing respiratory support equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, ventilators)
