Job Title: Mechanic/Assembler
Shift: 5:30am-4pm Mon-Thurs (Overtime available on Fri/Sat)

Job Description
This role focuses on assembling firetrucks by installing wiring, electronics, plumbing, and mechanical components according to detailed shop orders. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to build and integrate systems, ensuring each truck meets quality, safety, and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble firetrucks by installing wiring, electronics, plumbing, and mechanical components according to shop orders and build specifications.
- Use hand tools and power tools to install, fasten, and secure parts and assemblies on the truck.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and construction documents to ensure accurate installation of components.
- Measure and mark locations for components using a tape measure and other measuring tools to ensure precise placement.
- Route and connect electrical wiring and harnesses, ensuring proper connections, organization, and safety.
- Install plumbing lines, fittings, and related components, verifying proper routing and secure connections.
- Assemble and install mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics, according to technical specifications.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on tools and equipment used during assembly to keep them in safe working condition.
- Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in an open-air manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and improve build quality and efficiency.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and shop drawings.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly and construction.
- Experience with electrical work, including wiring and basic electronics installation.
- Experience with plumbing installation and routing.
- Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to use a tape measure accurately and perform precise measurements.
- Capability to follow shop orders and written instructions accurately.
- Comfort working in an open-air manufacturing facility with varying temperatures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on vehicle or equipment assembly is a plus.
- Background in preventive maintenance of tools or equipment is beneficial.
- Comfort working with multiple systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Willingness to work additional hours when available.

Work Environment
This position is based in an open-air manufacturing facility, which means temperatures will be hot during the summer and cold during the winter. The standard schedule is a first-shift role, Monday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Overtime is voluntary but typically available, often on Friday and/or Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with occasional opportunities to stay late during the week. The environment is hands-on and tool-intensive, involving frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Work attire should be appropriate for a manufacturing setting and suitable for varying temperatures and the use of safety footwear.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.
