American Backflow & Fire Prevention is seeking an experienced Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician to perform inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and limited installation work on commercial kitchen fire suppression systems throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

This position is primarily focused on inspections, service, repairs, and system maintenance. We are looking for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates professionally with customers, and understands the importance of thorough documentation.

This role requires a technician who can work independently, identify deficiencies, communicate recommendations to customers, and provide accurate documentation to support compliance and billing.

Position Overview

• 7080% inspections, service, repairs, and troubleshooting
• 2030% tenant improvements and installation work
Responsibilities
• Perform inspections and testing of commercial kitchen fire suppression systems
• Diagnose and repair deficiencies in kitchen suppression systems
• Troubleshoot system issues and recommend corrective actions
• Perform system modifications, upgrades, and limited installation work
• Complete service reports, deficiency reports, and inspection documentation accurately and completely
• Communicate findings and recommendations professionally with customers
• Maintain consistent communication with office staff regarding job status, parts needs, scheduling changes, and project updates
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment
• Follow all company and safety procedures
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of commercial kitchen fire suppression experience
• Experience performing inspections, service, and repairs
• Knowledge of NFPA 17A, NFPA 96, and related fire protection codes
• Experience with Ansul, PyroChem, Kidde, Amerex, Range Guard, or similar systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Highly Desired
• Experience with fire sprinkler inspections and service
• Fire extinguisher service experience
• Backflow certification
• NICET certification
• Experience with special hazard suppression systems
