Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum License: Valid RN license required Certifications: N/A Must-Have: Strong teamwork and communication skills Description: Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered. Previous employees are not accepted. The RN partners with residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment. Direct and indirect care is provided to residents. Candidates should be comfortable working with residents who have Alzheimer's and dementia. Verbal and non-verbal communication techniques are key for this population. Understanding difficult behaviors that are sometimes associated with cognitive impairments is essential. These behaviors can often be valid communications. Care should be tailored to meet the needs of residents requiring long-term placement in a home-like environment. The facility includes specialized units for transitional rehabilitation. Short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation services are offered for patients recovering from various conditions. Nursing services commonly include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management. Flexibility is required to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Floating to other units may be necessary. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
