Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

The Operating Room RN is responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care for surgical patients. This role involves circulating and scrubbing in a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile techniques throughout operations.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments for scheduled procedures.
  
  
• 
  Assist surgeons and surgical team members by maintaining a sterile environment.
  
  
• 
  Perform circulating duties, including monitoring patient status and documenting procedures.
  
  
• 
  Proficiently handle vascular, general, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and robotic surgeries, including vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting.
  
  
• 
  Support patient care before, during, and after surgery while adhering to safety and procedural protocols.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a WV or Compact RN license; pending licenses accepted.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 2 years of RN experience, including 1 year in surgical specialties.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in vascular, orthopedic, general, ENT, urology, and robotic surgical procedures.
  
  
• 
  Be certified in BLS; ACLS and PALS required if specified by the unit.
  
  
• 
  Have circulating and scrub experience in a surgical setting.
  
  
• 
  Be proficient in vein and radial artery harvesting techniques.
