HVAC Technician – Job Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HVAC Technician to install, service, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential and light commercial customers. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including furnaces, hydronic boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and recommend proper solutions
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Test HVAC systems for proper operation, airflow, and efficiency
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding system issues, repairs, and maintenance options
- Maintain accurate service records and work orders
- Follow all safety procedures and local building codes
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years HVAC experience preferred (or equivalent training/apprenticeship)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
- Strong customer service and communication skills
Preferred (but not required)
- Ductless/VRF experience
- NATE certification
