The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 12–24 months . The Assistant Teacher helps implement daily routines, engages children in learning activities, and promotes each child's physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual development while maintaining compliance with Georgia child care regulations.

Responsibilties :

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily lesson plans and classroom activities. 
• Prepare classroom materials before children arrive. 
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play. 
• Help maintain classroom schedules and routines. 
• Encourage language development through reading, singing, and conversation. 
• Assist with transitions throughout the day.
• Maintain constant supervision of children.
• Follow all Georgia licensing regulations and health standards. 
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and sanitized. 
• Report accidents, illnesses, or concerns immediately. 
• Follow emergency procedures and evacuation plans. 
• Ensure toys and equipment are clean and safe. 
• Change diapers according to sanitation procedures.
• Assist with potty training when appropriate

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years 
• High School Diploma or GED 
• Ability to pass criminal background check 
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds 
• Genuine love for young children 
• Strong communication and teamwork skills 
• CPR and First Aid Certification 
• Knowledge of Georgia Early Learning Standards 
• Demonstrate Christ-like love and compassion.

Preferred

• Child Development Associate (CDA) or Early Childhood Education coursework or pursuing
• Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center
