Furniture Repair Technician at Williams-Sonoma Inc. Monroe Township, NJ

Furniture Repair Technician – South Brunswick, NJ Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm Responsibilities Ensure complete and thorough inspection of upholstery and furniture repairs including burns‑ins, wood graining and clear finish. Perform repairs to maintain quality assurance for next‑day home deliveries. Color match on top surface and apply sealers, topcoats, and finishes with spray gun. Polish topcoat to vendor specifications and perform cross‑grain scratching, burn‑in, and rub‑out techniques. Execute minor to complex repairs of damage or defects (e.g., wood repair, touch‑up, burn‑in, fill, etc.) to meet standards. Paint and finish color‑match wood products, using lacquers for flat to high gloss finishes. Inventory and organize all shop tools and repair materials / supplies. Perform work safely and contribute to a professional environment. Assemble/deluxe furniture and stage prior to delivery as needed. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. At least 2 years’ previous experience in furniture assembly. Ability to multitask and be extremely detailed in identifying errors and imperfections. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with painting, wood assembly, wood repair, and/or similar craftsmanship. Self‑motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Ability to work under pressure and be a fast learner. Availability to work full‑time schedule which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to be part of a team. Furniture repair skills assessment testing may be required as part of the interview process. Physical Requirements Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds.
