- Registered credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)


Certifications:
Preferred Credentials:
- Advanced Life Support from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support from American Heart Association or American Red Cross


Must-Have:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience


Description:
Provides evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Assesses patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment.
Develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
Implements and monitors patient care plans and equipment.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
Performs advanced respiratory care modalities.
Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatments based on patient outcomes.
Educates patients and families about health conditions.
Provides information about community support groups and other available resources.
Responds to emergency resuscitation team codes.
Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Ability to work with minimal supervision is essential.
Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
