Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in a large hospital; level 1 preferred, level 2 accepted License: Any active state RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment - Ability to read and interpret strips - Experience with trach management - Epic charting system experience required - Willingness to float within the hospital or to another facility Description: Winter jobs available for a 13-week contract. Travelers must be able to work a minimum of every other holiday. Candidates do not need a license in hand to apply but must obtain the required license before the contract begins. Targeted patient ratios are 1:2-3. Travel experience is preferred. Floating may occur within specialty clusters. Travelers may be assigned to support the nursing care of the unit they float to. Weekly responsibilities may include working with high-risk respiratory units. The work environment is a fast-paced, high acuity ICU with a 40-bed capacity. Common patient conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, and head bleeds related to trauma. Bedside procedures include endoscopy, bronchoscopy, trach, and G-tube placement. Specific procedures may involve ICP monitoring, arterial lines, and various bedside interventions. Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the management of ventilated patients. Must be comfortable managing high-acuity patients with multisystem organ failure. A professional demeanor and a commitment to patient care are essential. Maximum 14 days of requested time off are allowed per contract. Local travelers are not accepted for this position.
