At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an on-site work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least four to five days per week.

Our Purpose: 

Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing innovative, breakthrough next-generation medical devices that improve and extend the lives of patients around the world. The Electrophysiology (EP) unit has a broad portfolio of technologies to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders. The division provides three treatment options for arrhythmias – pulsed field ablation, cryoablation, and radiofrequency. Solutions are designed to improve procedural efficiencies and facilitate safer, more predictable left atrial access. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Use your problem-solving abilities to perform meaningful engineering work. 

• Have opportunities to expand your professional network. 

• Grow your skillset through a combination of training, hands-on experience, and mentorship. 

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team. 

• Get exposure to what it is like working in a Fortune 500 medical device company. 

• Design, fabricate, and test prototype devices to address clinical feedback. 

• Analyze large clinical databases to inform device design and procedural technique. 

• View live and recorded clinical procedures and developing test methods to replicate use. 

Required Qualifications:

• Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029
• Currently pursuing a bachelors or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering or pursing a bachelors or graduate degree in Engineering with an emphasis/minor in Biomedical or Mechanical engineering. 
• Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 17th – August 6th OR May 24th – August 13th
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
• Have reliable transportation to and from the Arden Hills, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams. 

• Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
• Knowledge of analytical techniques and statistical analysis.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
