Account Manager - Transportation & Logistics
Compensation: $80,000 Base + Bonus Potential ($100,000+ Total Compensation)
Travel: Light Travel (2-4 customer visits per month) About Our client is a full-service transportation and supply chain provider headquartered in Florence, New Jersey. Position Summary Account Manager to manage and grow an established portfolio of customers across our asset, brokerage, and warehousing divisions. This is not a "hunter" role. Instead, this individual will serve as the primary relationship owner for existing customers, ensuring exceptional service, solving problems, identifying growth opportunities, and strengthening long-term partnerships. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, proactive, and comfortable navigating both customer-facing conversations and internal operational challenges. Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing customers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communication and support.
- Handle escalations and lead service recovery efforts when issues arise.
- Coordinate internally with operations, brokerage, warehouse, and transportation teams.
- Build trust and strengthen customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities to increase wallet share and expand services.
- Develop strategic solutions to improve customer experience.
- Participate in customer visits and occasional industry events.
- Ensure customer retention and long-term satisfaction.
- Communicate confidently and professionally.
- Pick up the phone and address difficult conversations when necessary.
- Build trust and become a valued partner to customers.
- Identify account growth opportunities.
- Recognize operational gaps and recommend solutions.
- Take a proactive approach to customer management.
- Work across departments to resolve issues.
