Clinical Nurse (RN)

The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, quality nursing care. The RN utilizes Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and Relationship Based Care in their practice. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all patients assigned to their care. They make determinations regarding the patient's progress toward goals. The RN utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN supports the mission, vision, values, and expectation of excellence of the organization. The RN demonstrates the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences. They provide care consistent with the interdisciplinary plan grounded in Relationship Based Care principles. The RN assesses patients' physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis. They formulate a nursing diagnosis through observation and interpretation of information obtained from the patient and others. The RN collaborates with the client to formulate a care plan. This ensures that nursing care services provide for the client's safety, comfort, hygiene, protection, and disease prevention. They perform essential nursing skills and explain health treatment to the client and family. The RN teaches clients and families how to care for health needs. They evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan continually. The RN modifies the plan as needed based on the client's condition and communication with the health team. They demonstrate a current working knowledge of safe equipment, instrumentation, and medications. The RN delegates tasks to care team members based on legal scopes of practice. They effectively supervise nursing care given by the care team. The RN acts as the client's advocate by initiating actions to improve healthcare when needed. They give the client the opportunity to make informed decisions about their healthcare. The RN provides culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice. They coordinate patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary care team members. The RN documents nursing care per hospital policies. They utilize manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and productivity. The RN is accountable for meeting or exceeding unit and organizational goals related to patient satisfaction. They contribute to positive patient care experiences through individual interactions with patients and families. The RN assists in the resolution of complaints with the goal of immediate resolution. They investigate physician, employee, and patient complaints and provide relevant information to the Clinical Manager. The RN performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum acute care three years experience required License: CA RN License Certifications: AHA BLS

Must-Have: - Proficient communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic) - Ability to perform physical duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
