An established outpatient pharmacy is seeking an experienced clinical pharmacist to support a full-time 6–12 month assignment. This critical role goes beyond traditional dispensing duties, focusing heavily on retail pharmacy operations, specialty pharmacy, regulatory compliance, accreditation, and complex 340B program management.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in outpatient pharmacy processes, regulatory standards, and hands-on compliance management, ensuring operational excellence in a health-system environment. Collaboration with pharmacy leadership, legal and compliance teams, and other stakeholders will be a key aspect of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily outpatient and retail pharmacy operations while supporting dispensing activities as needed
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and pharmacy-specific regulations, particularly relating to 340B operations (approximately 80% of business)
• Provide guidance on 340B compliance, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, payer requirements, and billing
• Support ACHC and URAC accreditation standards, including survey readiness, documentation, policy maintenance, and ongoing compliance
• Review and update pharmacy policies and procedures
• Identify operational and regulatory gaps, recommending and assisting with corrective action plans
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and legal/compliance teams to ensure practices meet organizational and regulatory standards
• Support specialty pharmacy processes and regulatory requirements
• Assist with operational improvements and workflow optimizations

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active New York Pharmacist license required
• Extensive retail/outpatient pharmacy experience, including specialty pharmacy
• Strong knowledge of 340B pharmacy operations and compliance management
• Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with ACHC and URAC accreditation standards for pharmacies
• Proven regulatory and compliance expertise in outpatient pharmacy settings
• Experience developing or reviewing pharmacy policies and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with legal, compliance, and leadership teams
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Highly Preferred:

• Prior involvement in ACHC and/or URAC survey preparation and accreditation processes
• Experience maintaining pharmacy accreditation post-approval
• Deep understanding of specialty pharmacy regulatory issues
• Background in health-system outpatient pharmacy operations
• Experience using PrimeRx pharmacy system
• Significant oversight or management of 340B pharmacy operations
