Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager with a strong background in construction accounting to join a growing organization and play a key role in financial operations. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the accounting process, partnering with operations, and has the ambition and capability to grow into a Controller-level leadership role over time. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting project-based accounting environments, managing financial reporting, overseeing job cost processes, and improving financial visibility across construction operations. Experience with FOUNDATION Accounting Software is highly preferred; however, candidates with experience in other construction ERP/accounting platforms (Vista/Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE, CMiC, Spectrum, Procore Financials, etc.) will also be considered. CPA is a plus but not required. Key Responsibilities Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes , ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and analyze financial statements , including balance sheets, income statements, and budget-to-actual reporting. Manage job cost accounting , project budgets, cost tracking, committed costs, and financial performance reporting. Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and support percentage-of-completion revenue recognition . Oversee construction-related accounting processes including billing, pay applications, subcontractor payments, retainage, and change orders . Monitor project profitability and partner with operations teams to identify risks and opportunities. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and industry reporting requirements. Support audit preparation, forecasting, cash flow management, and process improvements. Assist with accounting leadership initiatives and contribute to building scalable financial processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to construction accounting environments . Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and project accounting . Experience using FOUNDATION Accounting Software preferred; equivalent construction ERP platforms considered. Strong understanding of GAAP , financial reporting, and accounting controls. Previous experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or Controller capacity preferred. CPA certification is a plus.
