The Blake 8 Cardiac SICU is an 18 bed Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit provides patient/family centered care based on current evidence to a highly acute population requiring surgical and percutaneous interventions to manage acute coronary syndromes, valvular disease, cardiac transplantation and congenital diseases of the heart and vessels. Advanced technologies used in support of this patient population include: ventricular assist devices, continuous renal replacement therapies, intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. The unit is supported by a leadership team that includes a Nursing Director, a Medical Director/Intensivist as well as a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist.Essential FunctionsMaintain accurate, detailed reports and records.Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.Record patients' medical information and vital signs.Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.QualificationsEducationAssociate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferredLicenses and CredentialsMA Registered Nurse License requiredExperienceClinical nursing experience 0-1 year requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesFamiliarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.Knowledge of medical terminology.Excellent verbal and communication skills.Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.Additional Job Details (if applicable)Remote Type: OnsiteWork Location: 273 Charles StreetScheduled Weekly Hours: 36Employee Type: RegularWork Shift: Rotating (United States of America)Pay Range: $41.72 - $108.29/HourlyGrade: GHCARN055At Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization.
